MAI on the move In conjunction with the recent recommendation of Graeme Currie at Canaccord (who's company admittedly has a vested financial interest in MAI) the excitement seen in this stock recently is fundamentally due to two properties in southern Argentina; the Saavedra West and the Huevos Verdes. The Saavedra is a disseminated gold/silver target which is believed to be have silicification and sulfide content at depth. To confirm the great numbers from the earlier 100m, reverse circulation holes, a diamond drill is now drilling three, 250m holes. Core samples will be shipped back to the US and initial results should be available by early March. If the DD results confirm earlier reports and if the property lives up to it's 1000 X 500 meter dimensions and good depth estimated by geophysics, this property could prove to be a mine by anybody's standards. It still amazes me that the market ignored the 1998 result of 6.4 g/t gold and 929 g/t silver hole over 70 feet in one hole on this property. Helloo! Equally promising is the near by, high grade Huevos Verdes property which has already reported a trench containing 9.61 g/t (0.28 oz/t) gold and 255 g/t (7.46 oz/t) silver over 9 meters. This property is currently undergoing a 2,000m reverse circulation drilling program to further test mineralization. By my calculations, this property too is indicating it could be a possible resource. It's good to see that the market hasn't completely forgotten the junior exploration plays and with this one expected to report additional results in less than 6 weeks, lets hope that a bit of luck along with the good leg-work already done by the company will make this one a winner.
