Dan,

"Microsoft is apparently succeeding in removing Windows from the English language, or anyway restricting it to the off color language muttered by people absorbing "the integrity and uniformity of the Windows experience" firsthand"

I guess it is time for the estate of Jimi Hendrix to beginning suing over Microsoft's blatant violation of The Experience phraseology. When asked if they have ever been Experienced, the people at ActiveWindows can honestly save, "I have".

Next to fall is TV whizkid Chris Carter for his seedy attempt to cash in on the Microsoft "X" trademark, a brazen reference of course to the critically acclaimed ActiveX and "Files" being a 'direct in-your-face' as related to us by an angry Gates, who then added "I have a great respect for his [Mr. Carter's] work. If only he had come to us we could have worked a ULA out." In a sudden mood reversal, Bill quipped "'I want to believe' it was all an honest mistake..."

Still in appeals is the landmark case of "MSFT vs The Nation of Spain" over their lingual violation of the familiar DOS(tm) trademark -- a rampant copyright violation dating back some 3000 years according to evidence seized from the Vatican archives. In a similar suit, the Republic of Mexico settled out of court today, agreeing to reassign DOS(tm) as a nonword and remove it from all documents dating back to the year 1984.

Cheers,

Norm
