The real question here is why is intel introducing a new package for 500 and 550 MHz PIIIs when AMD is getting ready to obsolete 550MHz Athlons! At what price does Intel plan to sell this stuff in Q1 and Q2 if the chip is at below K6 speed grades by the time of the introduction (February)?

May be we will hear some thoughts from the Intel longs on this thread.
