Company to Give Out Free CDs Of the Award-Winning Development
Environment From its Booth No. 373

Magic Software Enterprises (Nasdaq:MGIC) Monday announced that it will be introducing its new
Magic Enterprise Edition V.8 development environment for Linux at the Linux World Conference and
Expo, Feb. 2-4, 2000, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

The company also will be distributing free evaluation CDs of the development environment at its Booth
No. 373, which will feature two virtual reality pods where trade show attendees can "Get in the Magic
eZone" by playing the virtual reality game, Zone Hunter.

The Magic Enterprise Edition V.8 for Linux development environment will be formally introduced at a
news conference scheduled to occur on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at 11:30 a.m.
in Room 1E04 of the
Convention Center. The news conference follows the Keynote Presentation of Linus Torvalds, which
runs from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

During the news conference, Magic will provide an overview and demonstration of the new development
environment. Magic also will announce a special, limited-time introductory pricing for the development
toolkit.

Magic, a member of the Linux International board of directors and a longtime supporter of the Linux
community,
continues to work aggressively to provide community members the tools necessary to bring
enterprise-level business applications to the operating system. Last year, it introduced its Magic
Enterprise Server V.8.3 for Linux, which enables existing Magic applications developed on non-Linux
platforms to be quickly and seamlessly ported to the Linux operating system.

In addition, the company ported Magic eMerchant(TM), its award-winning business-to-business
customizable e-commerce solution to Linux. With this latest product, developers will be able to build
applications directly on the Linux platform. Conference attendees are encouraged to visit the Magic
Booth No. 373, attend a product demo and pick up a free evaluation CD.
