Canadian Dollar Update

The Canadian dollar appears to be at a 21 month high against the US$ and
has reached the end of a down cycle which has lasted almost 2 years . Here
are the numbers since April 98 (CAN$ in US cents, first of each month):

4/98 70
5/98 70
6/98 69
7/98 68
8/98 66
9/98 65
10/98 65
11/98 64
12/98 65
1/99 65
2/99 66
3/99 66
4/99 66
5/99 68
6/99 68
7/99 68
8/99 66
9/99 67
10/99 68
11/99 68
12/99 68
1/00 69
Today (1/25/00) 70

The falling value of the CAN$ had significant effects on GRIN's financial
performance, pushing down gross profits and generating large currency
exchange adjustments in their expenses in 1998. The CAN$ improvement
which began about 1/99, helped GRIN during 1999 and the continued
improvement this month bodes well for 2000.

FWIW,
Frank
