"Uniprime Capital Acceptance Files Chapter 11" Uniprime Capital Acceptance Inc., Phoenix, announced Friday that it filed for chapter 11 protection to reorganize the company and seek the release of its assets from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) freeze imposed against prior management, according to a newswire report. This action was taken by the company's new management to try to put the assets to use by the debtor-in-possession for the benefit of the approximately 1,000 shareholders and creditors. The SEC is seeking to have the assets disgorged into a fund for the benefit of 83 shareholders who purchased shares from the company between June 16 and August 13, 1999.
