How does it fit into the plethora of alternative choices discussed. Flexion's distinguishing feature is not its CTI or PBX features, as stunning as they are. Rather, the unique feature of Flexion -- and what sets it apart from any other known solution -- is its smart termination of the PRI T1, DSL or ATM pipes offered by the central office. This has tremendous advantages both to the central office (in terms of required client equipment) and to the client. Some of this is hinted at by Andrew Bale. In an article reprinted in a prior post, he wrote: "Next-generation service providers terminate their networks not on dumb channel banks, but on highly intelligent edge devices that tie directly into the applications environment on the customer's premise, and that increasingly allow applications to control the very behavior of the public network.
