Steve, great link, thanks.
Open Fund has an impressive record so far, especially with the kind of diversification with 75 longs and 5 shorts in the portfolio. Not surprised with the record as I glanced thru their holdings. However, I suspect many on this thread also have similar if not better records:
From 8/31/99 to 12/31/99 + 91.15% (RT +79.89%) From 8/31/99 to 1/25/00 + 116.47% (RT +121.45%) 102% long(75), 12% short(5), 10% cash (RT 123% long(56), zero short, 23% margin, need to cut back!)
For comparison, the ones in bracket reflect my DLJ portfolio. It may not be an apple to apple comparison as they continue to have fund in-flow (not sure how they account for it, may have dilution effect). Mine is straight end-of-period NAV, closed fund.
When I get tired of investing myself, I might consider letting them do it for me. Right now, I am still having fun picking stocks <g>.

PS: Done some DD on HHGP, a venture capital and high performer in the fund. It owns SILK and NANX, among others. |
