"I-Link Incorporated and Big Planet Reach Terms to Form Marketing and Channel Agreement Network marketing sales forces to unite under Big Planet to market I-Link's enhanced telecommunications services and products"
DRAPER, Utah and PROVO, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2000-- I-Link, Inc. (Nasdaq: ILNK), an enhanced voice and data communications company, and Big Planet, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: NUS), announced today that they have reached an agreement in principle on terms under which Big Planet will obtain the exclusive global network marketing channel distribution rights of I-Link's products and services.
The parties expect to enter into a definitive agreement in the near future, under the terms of which the I-Link Worldwide network marketing representatives and their sales volumes are planned to transition intact to Big Planet. The combined I-Link Worldwide and Big Planet network marketing sales forces would market I-Link's enhanced telecommunications products and services to residential and small business markets. Additionally, Big Planet would purchase I-Link's products and services on a wholesale basis and would assume responsibility for providing customer service to existing I-Link customers. Other established sales channels for I-Link's products and services would be unaffected by the arrangement. The proposed transaction is subject to completion of definitive documentation, due diligence and any required corporate or regulatory approvals.
