You don't think Jesus showed symptoms of mental illness and self-destructiveness? Why do you suppose the authors of the gospels made them so explicit and undeniable. If Jesus believed he would be killed if he went to Jerusalem, why do you suppose he went? Why would he create a riot in the Temple if he didn't want to attract the Priests to punish him. Why would he go armed into the Mount of Olives and provoke his followers to draw and fight? Why would he taunt the High Priest and the Roman Procurator? Why would he curse God and die?
