My bet is you are observing the inherent volatility of distribution.Where the stock closes on a high volume day gives an indication of the strength of ownership ie. churning.A strong stock can handle more days of this than a weak stock.The entire sector is certainly receiving greater volumes.Some one is selling and someone is buying.

I think I'm seeing quite a few great stocks going into distribution.
