Elmer, Since Intel makes slot 1 boards then when they cease those product lines those parts that are made by diverse manufacturers will be unsellable for use on Intel mobos(except perhaps xeons which may keep them for extra cache space etc) and thus will find a market outlet to slot 1 mobos of AMD and be used in slot A mobos. This could result in a glut of those parts and they may well end up lower in cost. In time AMD will reduce their Slot A as they go to a socket system. Since it is established I expect the slot 1/A will stay around for some high end server apps from both makers. Hey, I wonder if Via has an offering coming down the pipeline? Bill
