Doug.... I couldn't agree with you more re: the point of compelling need...indeed, if a company like S1 had anticipated online brokerages would be the first market, I have no doubt they would have gone there at the outset. However, the company has focused on the top tier in the USA and worldwide in as much as the top tier banks are best positioned along most lines of business to win in the shakeout that is already emerging, to create mass up-front in terms of adoption rates, and certainly on the basis of huge transaction rates, lend a certificate of functionality to the S1 product set. The marketplace, as I said, is much larger than checkbooks, much broader, and indeed every top tier penetration is also another opportunity to sell value added products and services as needs demand...and as S1 improves or adds to their product set. Their strategy is indeed a compounding strategy on a host of levels...and to my mind...quite brilliant at this stage.
