Hi Kemble,

The PC growth alone doesn't seem to be gaining the attention it once did...too bad because the future is brighter than ever

I disagree. The future was much brighter when Dell had a small market share and unleashed its superior business model on an unsuspecting competition. But now, Dell commands a major market share and cannot rely on taking significant market share from the competition to fuel its growth. That means that top-line growth is increasingly constrained by the growth of the PC industry as a whole (around 15% p.a.).

In order for Dell to resume its torrid growth, or even to stabilize at current levels it must move into new businesses where it can migrate its business model.

Convergenet was only the first timid baby step.
