You can screen for low price/cash ratio using the Telescan ProSearch tool, available at tscn.com.

I quit subscribing to telescan because I found myself using free data available elsewhere. Only ProSearch was worthwhile. You could try a trial subscription.

Presently I'm using the StockQuest search tool from MarketGuide. It is available free to Ameritrade customers via the ameritrade web site. This tool doesn't include cash as one of the search parameters, but it is possible to construct the working capital as a search parameter, which I do. I can turn up stocks with a low price / working capital ratio this way. The list of stocks is so short that it takes only a few minutes to check the cash/share for each of them, using Yahoo.

One stock I turned up today using this approach is AWX, Avalon Holdings, which has $5.31 per share cash, and is trading for $5 1/8, as you can see here:
biz.yahoo.com

Here's a story about AWX: cbs.marketwatch.com

I'm not sure whether I like AWX or not. It's a very odd company, with waste disposal, engineering, a golf course, and a restaurant.
