How does an Operating System solve the power problem? The drive consumes a certain amount of power when it spins and more when it is read from or written to. The operating system can do nothing to better this. All that could be done would be to shut the drive off to keep it from spinning when not in use, any OS would do this, nothing special. The other people that are playing around with the microdrive for mp3 or picture storage, I guess they haven't a clue how to read or write to it as efficiently as possible. CMB
