AT&T, EMC Plan Announcement Tomorrow at Washington Trade Show

New York, Jan. 26 (Bloomberg) -- AT&T Corp., the largest U.S. long-distance telephone company, and EMC Corp., the No. 1 maker of data-storage systems for corporate networks, plan an announcement tomorrow at the ComNet trade show, EMC said.

Mark Ward, vice president of global marketing, will make the announcement from the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C. at 10 a.m. local time, EMC spokeswoman Laura Beck said in an e-mail message. The announcement will follow a keynote address by Kathleen Earley, president of AT&T Data and Internet Services.

The New York Times reported today that AT&T could announce as soon as tomorrow that it's expanding its operation that manages applications for corporate customers on AT&T's network.

Shares of New York-based AT&T fell 1/8 to 51 3/16 in late trading. EMC, based in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, fell 8 1/4 to 111 3/4. Earlier, EMC reported fourth-quarter revenue that lagged some forecasts.
