15:42 ET Nortel Networks (NT) 99 7/8 -9 halted: Canadian Bell operating company, BCE Inc. (BCE 99 1/8 +3 1/8) reportedly to spin-off 95% of their holdings in Nortel, BCE owns 39.2% ($55 bln) of NT, so the spin-off would be about 36% of Nortel shares; SG Cowen analyst, Chris Stix says the sale is not a huge negative but could pressure the stock near-term; long-term however, he sees the sale as good news for NT as it will add liquidity.
