Hey Ned... Let's get something straight here with all of this discussion about the price of diesel/heating oil. The shortage of Diesel stocks has nothing to do with the price of oil. It has EVERYTHING to do with the amount of diesel that refiners decide to produce in lieu of other fuels. And those decisions are based upon the prevailing belief of whether the weather will be mild or bitterly cold during the winter, and decided in the fall when they prepare their refinery production forecasts.
