The door opened. Thomas walked in. The air from outside smelled clean and cool. He rested his 30.06 against the wall next to the door. "Lost a calf. Killed the wolf though. Others out there. We'll maybe lose more." He took an apple from the bowl on the table. The apple was fiery red like blood. He bit into it. "Good apple."
