Chaz,

<< Is he your golf guru >>

Even my wife won't let me be her golf guru. <g>

See Smart Card thread. I am pretty convinced that there will be a SIM (UIM) in cdma2000. One reason your friends from NTT DoCoMo chose WCDMA and a GSM based network was the SIM. Mobility and interoperability, the reasons. No SIM, no cdma2000. Same thoughts in China. Korea developed a cdma SIM spec 2 years ago. UWCC finalizing their SIM spec for TDMA now and that (and other standardization things) are what have held up delivery of those marvelous trimode, triband GSM/TDMA mobiles that Tero told us would be here by Xmas (he just got the year wrong).

Coverage, Mobility, Interoperability, Roaming, Highly Secure Authentication to eCommerce servers, new and meaningful data applications, are as important as higher speed data rates in the new world of wireless data.

Go JDSU! Dell (long gone) Ouch!
