That has got to be one of the biggest shams out there. $400 rebate locking you into a three-year contract with one sole ISP, costing up to $720 in subscription fees in the long haul. I think many people change their long-distance carriers more frequently than every three years.

I really hope more people see the ISP "rebate" for what it really is: a trap. People who really want to save money should forego that $400 "rebate" and instead just go with a free ISP like NetZero. And people who want something more than NetZero would not want to lock themselves into a single ISP for three years anyway.
