we're talking about a point in future time when the Internet is pervasive and the use of search engines will not be stretching the skill level of the average person.

2 issues here.

1. Where do most people go to do their searches? Portals

2. People sometimes are given far too much credit. KB's model 3D GUI would be a failure if it did not have an AutoPilot. Most people want to be fed. They may not want to be fed advertising (right Ahhaha) but they want an amount of information fed to them. When I want to see the fast breaking news stories on World/Business/Sports/@HOME etc, I don't Ask Jeeves. I dial up Excite and see what stories are posted on MyExcite. When I am looking for specific information on a waveguide, I Ask Jeeves (or maybe Frank). Now that I think about it, AskFrank.com has a nice ring to it...

What is more likely, the average person will wake up one morning and say "I've got to see Hubble pictures" or the average person will wake up, fire up the internet and have YAHOO! as their start up page, see the line that says "click here for Hubble pictures". Most people don't want to search for the mundane, but they like to be fed it.

Regards
Jay
