Tony - RE: "This guy says it wasn't Intel."

Is that guy the CFO of Dell?

According to you, the CFO of Dell said something like this -

"300 million shortfall due to uneven receipt of semiconductor orders. Didn't say what kind of chips, but said they substituted in more expensive chips when they could get them."

Can you think of ONE reason why Dell would substitute more expensive RAM in their systems?

From the post by "this guy" you wanted me to read -

"I just got off of the phone with Dell, and my order that was place on Friday for two, top of the line Dimensions has been significantly delayed (in terms of delivery). If I stay with 256 ECC RAM, the orders will not ship for 51 days. If I change to 256 SDRAM, it is cut to 21 days. It is 16 days for 128 ECC RAM. I changed to 256 SDRAM (128 ain't gonna cut it)."

Here, the time of delivery goes DOWN with less expensive and lower amounts of RAM.

That is the OPPOSITE of what Dell's CFO said.

Who do you want to believe, "this guy" or the CFO of Dell???
