Asbestos liability seems to be old news : messages.yahoo.com "To the tune of $1.3 billion. The whole thing is detailed in the 3/31/99 10K. Click this link to get to the 10K, go to the left column and scroll down to "Legal Proceedings" and click that. Unless something new and huge has come up, this is already factored into the price of the stock. There's something else causing it to drop like the proverbial rock, most likely a nasty earningssurprise."
