Spudfarmer,

You are a true renaissance man. This line alone was worth the price of admission...

...then they'll be too busy buying prostitutes and beating their wives to care about beating and killing their neighbors for politics

Not that I wish to put you on a pedestal (as they can be toppled fairly easily) but your post went straight to the heart of our current situation. NOBODY knows what happens short term. If people would only act like the "seasoned" investors they seem to be when the stock is going up, they'd analyze the situation and see that this is the same company that it was 60 points ago, minus a bunch of mouth-breathing day traders who are off to find the next "city of gold".

It's only with a longer perspective that you reap the benefits of QCOM's stance at the nadir of wireless technology. Just like water dripping on a stone, the passing of time, and application of pressure builds, and eventually the stone cracks. CDMA is the water, and Nokia, Motorola, AT&T, Europe, and China are the rocks. Give it some time folks, and each of those will crumble.

As far as I'm concerned, QCOM's stock price may look like a ride on a roller coaster from here till 2005, and I couldn't care less, other than to potentially buy more on drops. It's the endgame that matters, and that hasn't arrived yet.
