ELmer, 3% q to q sucks. If its not overall yield or binsplits, its bad management.

Such as...
1. idle fab capacity due to the CuMine delay (PB has admitted this)
2. telling the customer what he wants
3. Too many 133 bus parts -- there's not enough RAMBUS to use them with, MTH has bad performance and was too late. Proof of this one is that 133 bus parts are the only ones distributors have.
4. Prematurely reducing BX chipset production before the i820 was fully validated (again, trying to force the customers hand)
5. Too many PGA370 packages with no motherboards to handle them (exacerbated, perhaps, by the earthquake)
6. Intel decision to start 0.18 conversion with only 10% of wafer capacity despite having increased demand by the 1-2 month delay (i.e., no attempt to "catch up")

These are all bad management decisions which resulted in
1. Intel leaving a lot of money on the table for AMD
2. Screwing their customers
