A good link for Germany, in English - and a few impressions.

dechema.de

Looks very comprehensive.

My impressions based on a few first bleary-eyed forays into the underbrush of German biotech are:

1) There's less of it publicly traded than I expected. Either there's a big gap between the pharma powerhouses on one hand, and the privately-held start-ups with more ideas than employees on the other, or I just haven't got my bearings yet. Stay tuned.

2) The main holdings of the couple of German/European biotech mutuals I've found, which might have offered some pointers, instead read like the SI message boards - almost exclusively the US companies we all know and love.

3) The few publicly-traded German biotechs I've located have had apparently a run-up parallel to ours. Haven't had a good look at charts yet, though. Not to say they can't run a lot more - especially if US investors pile in.

Morphosys gets mentioned in the German business press, looks very elegant - a vast combinatorial library of characterized human antibodies. Find one that binds to whatever you're working on, they can provide a jar full of it, with the sequence on the label. Well, roughly. Web site in English, either go to the one Jongmans posted and hit the Union Jack, or:

morhposys.com

More when I have it.
