Dear M: You asked me in another post about EMC. I think this press release you posted says it all. Yes, I think EMC is a great stock with a great future. IMHO it should be in every tech holders portfolio. Why the drop? Who knows? I suppose it is a combination of momo people exiting (they did that on many techs yesterday), this mistaken (in my opinion) understanding of Mikes comment growth will exceed 25%(ie they fail to realize that EXCEED means just that plus even more importantly is the SALES MIX <ie software is continuing its very rapid growth with its very high margins>, the failure to understand that EMC had a magnificent qtr. YET with any large acquisition there was bound to be expenses and inefficiencies in this past qtr. which wont be repeated in the next qtr. so profitability likely to be even greater on a percentage basis going forward. I probably could go on but you get the picture. I personally have lowball orders in for even more of this stock in the event the market continues to sell off today. If I were not retired I would be tempted to bet the whole ball of wax on this company. But, alas, I do have to maintain some semblance of diversification even though EMC is my favorite stock at the moment based upon my believe of its future and its safety. The only negative as we all no is the high PE ratio, but if profits increase as they have in the past and I believe they will in the future that will be taken care of. In the short term, I have no idea where this stock will head, but in the long term (12 mos and more) I have no doubt it will go much higher. That is my opinion. JDN
