Sure America would have been able to find all those solutions on their own, they were first with the A-bomb, anyway. However, if Wernher v.Braun had gone to Moscow, it would have slowed down the process in the U.S. and sped it up in Eurussia, and you might not like to live in the world you created with your scenario...
