Well, just to experiment, I went in to the beta site just now, and in fact I find this not to be true.......to a LARGE degree.
In fact after I have cleared all new messages, my BookMarks only show up to the first thread starting with "D"s. Nothing more.
So am I to assume they(the rest of my BookMarks) are there but will only appear if someone makes a new post there? That's what it sounds like. This IMHO is unacceptable. IT IS NOT THE SAME.
In The original(Dryer's)SI, I am able to view ALL my bookmarked threads, A to Z Not so in the GNET/SI. I have to wait to see if someone posts there to know I have the thread BookMarked?
That's not cool. I have a ton of threads I have BMed to use as references(another search tool if you will-something that is seriously lacking in the new SI.)
SO even if all my 500+ Bookmarked threads are still there, why can't I view them? I fail to see the improvement there for members.
Secondly, since I did go to the beta version(briefly) I also noticed something else:

And, yes, the SubjectMarks page issue has been resolved. (Internally, we refer to is as the AugustWest feature - seriously. :)
........On the new SI, when you go to the SubjectMarks pages, it will load those subjects with new messages first, and then it'll load the rest of the page, i.e. the way it works on the old SI. We're doing regular production releases about once a week now, and assuming all goes well with testing, this should be rolled out in one of the next couple releases
The date on the public repost of the private is Dec. 28th, and the private was sent to me in mid December. By my calculations that's close to if not more than a month, and the threads with new messages still doesn't load first. How long would one have to wait for something promised? Way I learned things is that a couple means two, a few means three, and anything more is, well, more.
So can you time frame it for me once again? IE: Before you shut down the original SI? or before the end of the year? It's been 5 months or more now since you guys first gave us a taste of the GNET/SI, and there are still so many bugs, my advice would be to call an exterminator. But hey, that's just me. I like simple, resourceful type stuff.
Remember, shortest distance between two points is a straight line. Now I will be the first to admit that it's not always the quickest. Sometimes I will add a few extra miles to a drive just to avoid traffic or street lights, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. |
