Unisys Corporation and Zitel's Datametrics Systems Unit Sign Enterprise E-Business Software Agreement
Unisys to Offer ViewPoint(R) Performance Management Software Worldwide, Use
ViewPoint to Optimize its own E-Business Infrastructure
FAIRFAX, Va., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS) and Datametrics(R) Systems Corporation, a subsidiary of Zitel Corporation (Nasdaq: ZITL), today announced the signing of a Worldwide Resale Agreement and Enterprise Software License. The agreement calls for Unisys to resell Datametrics Systems ViewPoint(R) Performance Management software products to its customers worldwide. The products will be sold directly and through Unisys channels and will be packaged with Unisys e-@ction Solutions. Unisys has also licensed ViewPoint software for performance management of its own worldwide e-business infrastructure.
ViewPoint software is the market leader in e-business Performance Management, enabling proactive management of multi-tier enterprise application systems. The software aggregates data from heterogeneous environments, across platforms, operating systems, databases and applications, and analyzes the disparate information as a single integrated entity. ViewPoint's powerful correlation capabilities enable businesses to proactively identify and manage key indicators that signal potential e-business service level and performance problems. Using ViewPoint tools, managers can optimize overall e-business performance while pre-empting any potentially negative impact.

The agreement provides for training of Unisys personnel and for the worldwide sale and support of the Datametrics Systems products on the entire range of Unisys e-@ction Enterprise Servers, including Intel-based servers running Microsoft Windows 2000 or UnixWare and mainframe-class Unisys e-@ction ClearPath Enterprise Servers. The companies will link sales and support activity via the Internet. The agreement is for three years and Zitel's Datametrics Systems business unit estimates that revenue from the contract will begin to be recognized during its third fiscal quarter.
