PremiumWear, Inc. Contracts Directly With Page & Tuttle(R) Sales Representatives

MINNETONKA, Minn., Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- PremiumWear, Inc. (Nasdaq: WEAR) announced that effective today, it will directly contract with its independent sales agents representing the Company's Page & Tuttle(R) line of apparel to resort and golf pro shops. Since Page & Tuttle's startup two years ago, PremiumWear had contracted with Wingert & Associates to represent the line through that firm's sales agents located across the U.S.

"The sales agents who have represented Page & Tuttle(R) for the past two years will continue to market the line and serve the customers. The only change is our direct contract relationship with the sales force, so this transition will actually be seamless for the customer," said Jim Murphy, general manager of PremiumWear's golf division.

Murphy added that directly contracting with sales representatives will lead to immediate benefits for PremiumWear and Page & Tuttle(R) customers.

"PremiumWear will now have day-to-day contact directly with Page & Tuttle(R) sales representatives. The free flow of information between PremiumWear, the sales representative and the customer will enable us to be more responsive to a customer's individual needs," Murphy commented. "In addition, the contracts with these representatives are now structured such that their success is more closely tied to Page & Tuttle's success."

Sales of the Page & Tuttle(R) line continue to increase, as the Company further penetrates the golf pro and resort shop markets and with the introduction of the line to the promotional products industry. For the first nine months of 1999, Page & Tuttle(R) sales comprised 11 percent of the Company's total sales versus four percent for the same period in 1998. The line is carried by more than 1,250 golf pro and resort shops today.
