Michael, RE: Now why didn't Intel talk to me? I'm sure we could have found some more land here in Washington for that plant. :-)
California, Oregon, Washington, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Ireland, Israel, Singapore, Costa Rica and on and on and on. Used to be whenever I travelled around the country, or to Europe or Japan, I'd see IBM plants or sales offices everywhere. Soon, Intel will catch them. About 15 months ago, didn't Intel also get delayed building a plant in Washington state because of "endangerment to spotted owls"? Something like that. I think the plant was slated to build complete PC's, for the box makers who don't want to be bothered with assembly and test, etc.
Come to think of it, I would like to know the percentage of Intel based PC's that are made by Intel. Anyone ever see such a number?
