cuf looks like BJ? Interesting. Tekgirl has long been infatuated with BJ, has a giant poster of him framed in her study, has been to at least one concert on every tour in the last couple of decades, even made me go hear him at the Garden on New Year's Eve. Aunt Nancy better watch out...
As for the Boss, I'm actually related to one of the band members, so in the tek household the relative merits of BJ vs. Springsteen is a rather heated topic.
As for regional geography, the way to think about it is the following: there's Manhattan, which is New York. Then, around the core, there's a periphery consisting of the three outer boroughs (we ignore Staten Island), then Jersey and Nassau County (the western half of Long Island). People from the periphery are called bridge-and-tunnel people, because they have to cross water to get to the core. Tekgirl started as a bridge person (Bronx) and is now a tunnel person (Jersey). I started out as a New Yorker (Manhattan) and have remained such mentally, even though I am forced to reside with wife and cats in a state to the west.
