There's been some talk about NTRU in the sci.crypt newsgroup, but it still appears to be pretty unknown. There's been a call for comments by the P1363 working group. grouper.ieee.org I remember seeing their performance diagram at the RSA Conference and the performance for ECC looked really out of whack in comparison with RSA. According to someone on sci.crypt, the Certicom implementation was not used in the comparison, so that explains the poor performance. I'll be following this pretty closely, but right now, it looks like a crypto scheme in its infancy, and as anyone knows who has followed Certicom, withstanding the test of time and public scrutiny is the biggest key to success of crypto.
