A person that builds a $25 bil corporation from scratch to become (in about 12 months), the No 1. computer manufacturer in the world comes with a positive attitude and exceptional confidence.
When supply problems developed in Oct, Dell personnel did not throw up their hands and say 'this is beyond control', we can't fix it, lets warn the shareholders. They went to work
and have been very busy trying to solve the quarters problems right up to the last moment but couldn't do it. But we were warned somewhat indirectly that problems existed.
Strangly, institutions seem to get this info earlier than shareholders and were able to unload stock from the recent 50's on
down and IMO that kind of selling is finished now.

Dells dedication to growth remains unchanged- will still try to
grow at multiples of the industry rate. If CPQ and IBM or whoever continue to shoot themselves in the foot by selling at less than cost, Dell may have to reduce margins on PC's and extend their other business areas to keep profits up.
Would expect to hear a lot more about that in the CC following Feb earnings.
