JF, all you need to know is that Intel's partnership with ServerWorks is key to making sure that the Intel architecture covers all the segments of the server market. Intel makes server chipsets of its own, but instead of trying to cover the entire spectrum themselves, Intel instead will let ServerWorks cover the gaps. This way, Intel maximizes processor sales while ensuring that server chipsets remain prolific.

It's also interesting to note that while ServerWorks is indeed a competitor to Intel, their relationship with Intel is on a much more amicable level than Intel's relationship with Via. So yes, all of the information you read in the article is indeed good news.
