RE:"While I'm at it, talk about AMD for a sec. It seems to me that no matter what AMD does, short of put in several solid, profitable quarters, maybe, the street doesn't trust them as a long term investment. Other semi stocks, such as TXN, LSI, MOT, NSM and semi equip stocks like, all of them, can have one or several losing quarters, but, as soon as they get healthy again, they take off big time. That's why I don't invest in AMD. They are just not "trusted" by smart money, whoever that is"...
How true that is... Two things, AMD hasn't been able to string a series of good quarters together. They are up against Intel...the perception looms that even if AMD starts to look good, Intel will squash them.
Like you said...a few good consecutive quarters is what it will take. Intel is such an institutional darling...it will take a long time for any old money to believe in AMD.
