Arthur,
I use the whim method a lot. But most, if not all of the stocks listed on my SI profile have been there since I registered. Take OSII for example. Look at its price history over the last 8 months or so. I have owned it for about as long. As you can see things have been getting good as of late, and today it made the "Nasdaq Most Advanced" list. Same for UNFY if you look at the two year chart.

The big question is, when do you sell. And one answer is, you don't if you find a Microsoft. And I'm not saying I have either.

I noticed you seem to like MSEL. I too think that one is something to look at. Be it from momentum, or progress by the company, it seems like it could (and should) go up from 1.25.

Mostly I read press releases, look at income and sales, look at recomendations, etc. I create a list of about 100 good stocks, watch only those on the list for months and months. Nobody can watch everything. And I don't even try. When I see one of my "good" stocks go down for no apparent reason, then I may buy it. One that fits this right now is TBAE. Down 1.00 from a recent high. Should easily make that up over the next...well who knows how long, but even if it does it within a year, it's not a bad % gain. I just think it will be a lot sooner and even more than just a 1.00 gain.

Hope it helps,
Keep me posted on what low cost stocks you like.
DRat.
