Until a couple of months ago, his 'computer' stock pick was HP. Maybe it was HP and everyone BUT Sun Microsystems.
No, that's a false statement. It's true he was taken in by HWP like many others, but I think he was taken in by the general business picture of HWP rather than the computer part (growing dividends, diversification, all the other phoner-toner ways they were "creating value for shareholders"). He stopped supporting HWP when they missed earnings a couple of times. It was definitely over a year ago when he called for the ouster of Platt & co. In that same piece, he said, "What this means to me is more dollars on the bottom line for SUNW. I bought some today."
But you'll have to show me an example of Cramer ever being a Sun basher. I've never seen one. The closest thing to negative I've ever seen him be about Sun was the left-handed compliment, "I wish I were long it", whatever that's supposed to mean, said in a Yahoo chat about 18 months ago.
I will take it all back if you post a link. Now, criminal he may well be, because if you're involved in Wall Street you're presumed criminal until proven dead. But he is not stupid, and not anti-Sun that I can recall.
