There is no question in my mind that there has been an orchestrated smear campaign by the shorts. They are stuck in a pile of crap and they can't get out. They did not short THQ because of "accounting practices". They shorted because they felt THQ would fall apart after the loss of WCW. It's now clear that THQ has not and will not fall apart. THQ is getting stronger by the quarter.

So how do the shorts persuade the longs to sell so that they can cover without ending up dumpster diving? When THQ proved to the shorts that the company was getting stronger (even after the loss of WCW) the shorts needed to try and find another 'angle.' It's like a political smear campaign. It's like a politician smearing his opponent for adultery (WCW loss) and than finding out that the opponent was a boyscout. You have to smear the opponent (in this case it is THQ) with something. Anything will work just make it dirty and as ugly as possible. It's the accusation that does the damage. Accuse your opponent of enough dirty and rotten things and suddenly people wonder if the Boyscout really is a Boyscout.

The clock is ticking on the shorts and that is why the dirty and possible illegal tactics by the shorts have stepped up several levels. Unfortunately it is a PR game and the shorts are calling in every favor.

It is up to THQ to deliver a STELLAR conference call and try and put this nonsense to rest.
