<<What do you want to do with people who are extremely ill or dying? Most families do not have the time or experience to care for their relatives, even if they did want to handle all the medical equipment, give the injections, take care of the catheters, and the colostomies, etc etc. You can take sick people out back and shoot them, you can have a medical system that takes care of them, or families can take care of their ill relations. I don't know of any other options. >>

I have had a new opion on sick people with my wife. Blown knee and 6 leg fractures. The pain medication made her hard to deal with. 24 and 7 since November 8th. Got her coming around now and off the pain drugs. Much easier to deal with. My father blew an aneurism 9/23/84 and I lived in the waiting room until 11/10/84 and then slept on the sofa to give him his medication. He passed 12/08/84 and I stayed with my mother until she had a stroke 12/15/84. On Christmas Eve I was told she needed to be in a nursing home on the 26th of December as they were kicking her out. Got her in a nice place where she expired 3 months later.

What I'm trying to say here is that we face challenges with the health care of our families and no matter how insurmountable they seem we get them done.
