Penni turned from the fire. She had a pot in her hand. It was a steel pot, strong and honest. She put the pot on the table. The table was wood. "How do you feel?" she said. "I feel hollow and hungry." "Eat." He had taught her to cook and she loved him for that. "There are more wolves?" She handed him his whiskey. "I will go out again. But now I am hungry," He drank. The whiskey was strong and honest.
