Bernard, Thanks for the information. I agree that SBC is a prime candidate for buying WCG and would be good for them. SBC seems to be partnering in new technology aggressively and I believe going forward they would be a decent long term investment especially at these levels, but we could see them go a little lower. GTS is very interesting, thanks. Good point about WCOM. It was suggested to me almost 3 years ago by a spouse of a person very connected to Wm. E. that the company was being "groomed for sale". The price for FON was then @$30. I currently would not be a buyer here in WCOM, but I can not comment here, sorry.
I will state that SBC is moving faster in the broadband field and as I have said before (here or WCG thread), even wireless needs a land line connection, especially to link to the Internet as the future is currently being written for wireless. For this reason, I do believe B. Ebbers is paying too much for FON, as he is mostly buying wireless and long distance subscribers, which we all know where long distance is going...it will be the full service co's that will be the future of telco's. I also believe that WCOM is mired down in their merger with FON the same as Q is with USW and SBC just might be working the sidelines here.
Thank you for your excellent thoughts, thats what we are all here for,
õ
