Greetings Steve, Nice to see you posting again.

<< 1. He chose us, before we chose,
2. but based upon our decision!>>

Yes, I certainly agree that God makes the choice with respect to, who He will save and who He will not. Romans 8 & 9 explain this truth. He indeed chose us and out of that choosing, He makes us alive in Christ, and then we respond. or choose Him.

Your point # 2 is I believe very unscriptural and is tainted with humanism.
Ephesians 2:5 " having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will ".

Steve, it was God Himself who chose us , based on Himself alone, nothing we did or would ever do, we had nothing to do with our Salvation, it was totally from God , by His sovereign choosing.

<<
PS - I believe in both predestination and free will to choose at the same time! >>

Please think about that Steve, thats impossible.

Predestination is a Sovereign act of the Creator that will absolutely come to pass. Free will is a choice the creature makes. They certainly are not on the same level.

God Bless, Take care, Robert
