Most of the $140 value (as of yesterday) was made up of the value of the share of Nortel owned by BCE. After you receive your .78 shares of NT, your remaining share of BCE will trade based on the value of the rest of BCE's assets, which is estimated to be about $45 - CDN per share. So assuming Nortel is at 140, which is approx. where it ended today, .78 is worth 109.2. Add to that 40 and some dollars, and you have 150, which is where BCE closed today. After the spinoffr is carried out, BCE will trade based ony on the value of it's remaining assests.
Personally, I think we will see a value of in excess of $50 - , in addition to some appreciation in Nortel.
