We now have another problem, however--or at least I do. Over the last few months, I've become buddies with a high-level Army officer working temporarily in the office next door. We've bonded by discussing--what else?--tech stocks. He used to trade a lot, so I gave him a copy of the GG, along with lectures about many of our faves.
Well, he didn't get into Qualcomm during the fall ("it's too expensive!"), but as it went up and up his eyes kept popping and he swore that he'd take my next recommendation. That was Gemstar, which he picked up during the dip at the beginning of the year, in the low 60s, and was very pleased as it went back up into the 80s. I saw him today and said, "don't worry, it'll come back." He replied, "I hope so...and by the way, I just bought some Q at 125!"
If we're correct about these companies, then soon we'll have a very good friend in very high places. If not, then some very heavy weapons will be trained on yours truly, and even unclewest's military connections won't be able to protect me.....
