Allan,
I'll have to admit that ZMAX stock price is not a pretty sight to behold.
IMHO (acronym for "I don't have a clue, but I'll pretend to be real smart"):
Maybe only 1/2 of the street is saying "NO" & the 1/2 is saying "I don't care" (or, "Show me"). Evidently, last 2 announcements, new Chairman & small contract (relative to cap) were greeted with big "yawns". FWIW, average daily volume: Feb. 6 - Apr. 9 = 146K Apr. 10 - Apr. 24 = 39K (looks like today will be much higher)
April 9-10 time frame is about the same time that NY Times "investigative" reporter hammered ZMAX (a shell of a shell of a shell, etc.). Price took a quick dive & now most of the volume is coming from the "sell" side.
All in all, the entire y2k sector has been pretty much a yawn lately, so at least we're not alone. Appears that things are beginning to pick up, as some y2k companies are announcing contracts with large & mid-sized companies (CHRZ & IMRS come to mind).
Time-wise, who knows when y2k market will step into the limelight. Some may answer "NEVER", but I tend to think that by summer 1998, y2k will be a subject of conversation around every John Doe household. Oughta make for some great material for Letterman & Leno.
Unlike others who are smarter than me & have developed individual y2k porfolios (and mostly with established companies, unlike ZMAX), the y2k portion of my portfolio consists 100% of ZMAX.
"Why is this - don't you have better sense?", you ask. Answer in 25 words or less - "No." Even worse, I now have most of my ZMAX in my IRA (sick, huh?) Mainly because it may take months & months for the story to unfold. I'm long on ZMAX because of what I know, i.e. contracts & alliances . . .
and because of I believe (DANGEROUS) from ICC, these boards, & my brain: ZMAX speed & accuracy rivals that of the other "Z" 7-8 pilots complete, contracts being negotiated ZMAX management is #1. y2k market is enormous.
Has been said before that Management + Market + Product/Service = SUCCESS From reading of the other "Z", sounds like "Management" must also include the ability to "market to the market". Although that statement makes absolutely no sense to anyone but me, I know what it means, & truly believe that ZMAX meets all criteria.
I said 3-4 weeks ago something to the effect that ZMAX has "guns loaded". I still stand by that statement, I just wish that somebody would start the shootin'.
A great weekend to all, David
