If JDSU had eyes for SDLI, then wouldn't that affect an FTC "ruling"? In other words, I wonder if the FTC would allow JDSU to buy both ETEK and SDLI due to monopoly issues.

Given that JDSU has publically announced intentions of purchasing ETEK for 15 billion (~25% of market cap), why would they attempt to buy SDLI at nearly the same time? Isn't that like asking for $$ trouble and the FTC at the same time?

Unless ... JDSU wants to buy SDLI before the merger w/ ETEK is final, then drop ETEK. Could that scenario happen, or is it legal, etc?
